It is a statistical device, the transformer came from transform which means change is used to transfer energy from one circuit to another circuit without any variation in frequency.

Basically, it is not a storing device it changes alternate current into a bearable voltage which can be easy to use for appliances the first transformer was developed in 1885 by William Stanley which made it practically possible.

In the book of the national council of secondary education, it is defined as a transformer as a device that is used to convert low voltage to high voltage and vice versa.

Transformer work on the principle of electromagnetic and mutual induction

Mutual induction refers to if current inflows one coil then it reflects 2nd coil too if magnetic flux is induced in one coil then alternately magnetic flux is produced in another coil too. and because of it emf is produced in coils.

The transformer consists of a primary coil, a secondary coil, and a soft iron core.

Primary coil: it has an" n" number of turns wire over a piece of the soft iron core.

And it is the input end.

Secondary coil:

It is also known as the output end, it has "n " no of turns of any wire ( like copper wire, etc.) We receive output from this end.

Soft iron core:  the core on which turns are bound, the hysteresis curve for iron is very thin because it covers the minimum area if the hysteresis loop of iron is less then the loss of energy is very less. We always use a temporary magnet in transformers.

We will never use permanent magnets in transformers because it creates a lot of energy loss.

Transformers work on the electromagnetic principles linked by a common magnetic flux. Basically, the transformer consists of two coils primary and secondary coils which are electrically separated and magnetically connected to each other when the primary coil is connected to the alternating current then the flux is produced in the primary coil and passes to the secondary coil with the help of magnetic core present between it and the total flux used by the secondary

coil is called useful plants flux and, which is not used by the coil is called leakage flux if the direction of flux is continuously changed then the induced EMF is produced in the secondary coil according to faraday's law of electromagnetic induction.

then the induced EMF is called mutually induced EMF and the frequency of mutually induced EMF is the same as supplied emf. If the secondary coil is a closed circuit then the energy or current flows from one circuit to another circuit.

Transformers can be classified on different basis like on the basis of cooling, construction, etc.

1.    On the basis of construction:

The basis of construction is classified into two types.

Core type transformer:

In this type of transformer winding is done in a cylindrical form on core limbs in this each layer of coil is insulated with the other for insulation. We can use any material like paper, cloth, etc. Low voltage windings are placed nearer to the core as they are easy to insulate.

Shell-type transformer:

This type of transformer winding might be rectangular or in distributed form.

2. on the basis of purpose:

Step Up transformer:

In this type of transformer, Voltage increases with a simultaneous decrease in current at the secondary.

Step-down transformer:

In this type of transformer, the voltage decreases with a simultaneous increase in current at the secondary.

3. On the basis of their use:

 Power transformer:

It is used at power generation places for transmission networks and is highly rated.

Distribution transformer:

It is mainly used for distribution channels. It has a lower rating than a power transformer.

Instrument transformer:

Used in relay and protection purposes in different instruments in industries.

4. on the basis of cooling employed:

Oil-filled self-cooled type

Oil-filled water-cooled type

Air blast type ( air cooled)

Advantages of transformer:

Power transformer used in generation station

We can use an autotransformer as a voltage stabilizer.

For measuring the voltage and current we will use an instrument transformer.

For the distribution of electricity to the consumer we will use a distribution transformer.

It transfers energy from one place to another through long wires

Transformer with multiple secondary  are used in radio and TV receiver which requires several different Voltages

It is also an ammeter Transformer that aids in the measurement of a current-voltage of ac with an ammeter we know that a secondary coil is made up of tonnes of wires that are connected to the ammeter and properly functioning.

Transformers are also used in rectifiers. Rectifiers are mostly used to voltage from ac to dc .when the voltage is high level it needs to maintain that time Transformer is needed to control the step up the high voltage.

Transformer is also used in battery switching.

Title: "A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding Electrical Transformer Price: Factors That Influence the Cost and How to Get the Best Deal"

Introduction:

Electrical transformers are an essential component of power distribution systems, converting high-voltage electricity into lower-voltage electricity that is safe for use in homes and businesses.

If you're in the market for an electrical transformer, it's important to understand the factors that influence the price and how to get the best deal. In this article, we'll explore the cost of electrical transformers in detail, including the different types of transformers, factors that affect the price, and tips for finding the best deal.

Types of Electrical Transformers:

There are several types of electrical transformers, each with its unique characteristics and uses. Here are the most common types of transformers:

Power Transformers - These are the most common type of transformer and are used to step up or step down voltage levels in electrical power transmission.

Distribution Transformers - These transformers are used to step down voltage levels in power distribution systems, making it safer for use in homes and businesses.

Instrument Transformers - These are used for measuring and monitoring electrical currents and voltages in power systems.

Auto-transformers - These transformers have a single winding that is used for both primary and secondary purposes.

Factors Affecting Electrical Transformer Price:

Several factors influence the cost of electrical transformers. Here are the most important ones:

Transformer Type - As we mentioned earlier, different types of transformers have different prices. Power transformers are generally more expensive than distribution transformers due to their higher voltage capacity.

Transformer Size - The size of the transformer determines the amount of power it can handle. Larger transformers are generally more expensive than smaller ones.

Voltage Capacity - The voltage capacity of the transformer is another critical factor affecting the price. The higher the voltage capacity, the more expensive the transformer.

Material - The quality and quantity of materials used to construct the transformer can also affect the price.

Efficiency - Transformers with higher efficiency ratings are more expensive than those with lower ratings.

Tips for Finding the Best Deal:

Here are some tips for finding the best deal when buying an electrical transformer:

Compare Prices - Shop around and compare prices from different suppliers to find the best deal.

Choose the Right Transformer - Make sure to choose the right transformer for your needs. Don't overpay for features or capabilities that you don't need.

Buy from a Reputable Supplier - Buying from a reputable supplier ensures that you get a high-quality transformer that will last for years.

Consider Used Transformers - Used transformers can be a cost-effective option, but make sure to have them inspected by a professional before buying.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, understanding the factors that influence the price of electrical transformers can help you get the best deal when buying one. By considering the transformer type, size, voltage capacity, material,

and efficiency, you can make an informed decision and find a transformer that meets your needs and budget. Remember to compare prices from different suppliers, choose the right transformer, and buy from a reputable supplier for the best results.
